TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR HIGH SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELOR

COLLEGE APP ATTACK will prepare you before you see your high school counselor so you will be organized and ready to ask the important questions and get the most out of your allotted time.

According to the American Counseling Association the national student to counselor ratio is 1 counselor to every 467 students. Unfortunately due to Budget Cuts and Layoffs, time with your guidance counselor is limited.

MAKE THOSE MINUTES COUNT AND TAP INTO THEIR KNOWLEDGE

Before you see your High School Guidance Counselor do your homework. Review the College App Attack System and begin to fill in your information on the worksheets provided in your College App Attack Caddy.

  • Research what colleges interest you prior to your appointment. If you are not sure what major you want to choose, list three that interest you, and get feed back from your counselor of which they believe would be best for you based on your Transcripts and Test Scores.
  • Complete and bring your Resume aka "Brag Sheet", that you created using the College App Attack RESUME CREATOR, with you to your appointment.
  • Ask your counselor for a Letter of Recommendation and leave them a copy of your RESUME so that they can personalize your letter.
  • You may also provide them with a cover letter, using the sample in the College App Attack System, showing them to whom to address your Letter of Recommendation.
